Why Disney Made ‘Tangled Ever After’

Posted by

Tangled Ever After is the short film sequel to Walt Disney’s 50th Animated film Tangled. The short is currently playing in front of Beauty and the Beast 3D and thanks to a blog post on The Disney Blog we now have an understanding on why Disney decided to make a sequel in a short film.

It seems that the idea was not as a filler to try and draw you into re-watching Beauty and the Beast on 3D, but rather from fan demand of the wedding being absent from the original theatrical film.

Obviously, it was pretty clear to all of us that just watching Flynn and Rapunzel get married would be a pretty uninteresting short. So Director Nathan Greno had an idea that would give a wedding to people who wanted that, but also have a layer of entertainment and comedy that would give some more screen time to Maximus and Pascal, who seem to be perfect characters to have their own comedic spotlight in the form of a short.

So there you go, if you are passionate about a film and demand they make it, Tangled Ever After is proof that Disney is listening.

Tangled Ever After is currently playing before Beauty and the Beast 3D for a limited time and will play on the Disney Channel sometime in Spring 2012.
